My wife, Terra, and I have lived in GE since 1997. Our three daughters were born, raised and educated here in District 41 and 87. We have enjoyed our 23 years and all that the area has to offer.
My wife and I own Bantix Technologies. We are a software development and SaaS (software-as-a-service) provider of a product called QuikStrike. We are located in downtown Glen Ellyn.
CEO - Bantix Technologies, LLC
We provide a product called QuikStrike - an options pricing and analytics tool for the brokerage and professional trading community. QuikStrike has been in production since 2004 and has active users in over 100 countries throughout the world. We also provide development services for those companies looking to customize QuikStrike to fit their specific needs.
QuikStrike, the application, started as a spreadsheet I created (way back in the 90s) when I was trading on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in the Eurodollar options pit. It grew from a handful of users using the pricing models in Excel to what it is today. It's been fun so far.

I started at Harper College (1 semester) then moved to COD (6 years) and ended my time teaching at IIT (4 years). Each time I created my own curriculum, assignments, class website, exams and was able to choose my text as well (in most cases). I really enjoyed teaching and meeting so many great students. I even met some future Bantix employees while teaching them in class. It was a great experience and really afforded me the opportunity to see what is beneath the tip of the iceberg when it comes to preparing, teaching, mentoring, grading and all that happens behind the scenes when teaching a class.
I am currently a member of the DuPage PADS Development and Taste of Hope committees. I have also been engaged with community from the time we moved to Glen Ellyn in 1997. I am including my LinkedIn profile here where most of these are enumerated along with the balance of my work experience and educational background.
I have always been a supporter and advocate of COD and all it has to offer the community. I also have fond memories of my time there as an adjunct faculty member. However, the most recent faculty contract negotiations and how the staff was treated are my main motivations for running. I am hoping to be part of the board so we don't have to witness what we did with this last contract. The college's faculty are a very important part of what makes COD so special.
I am a 23+ year resident of Glen Ellyn and a proponent of public education. I will bring years of business experience to the table as well as a practical knowledge of what it means to be a member of the COD staff and a user of all it offers to the community. I have a BS in Computer Science from Northwestern University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. I am a lifelong learner and understand the importance of education in a person's potential for success (whether you're a new high school graduate or studying for a second or change in career). I am also well aware of what it takes to get and put a child through college as my wife and I have a recent graduate, a college senior and a college freshman.
I, along with my wife, own a financial services software development (SaaS) company. Over the last 20 years, I have managed multi-million dollar budgets and large scale software development projects for internal product efforts as well as projects for customers ranging in size from small (choose your definition) to multi-billion dollar, publicly traded companies. As I mentioned previously, I believe my practical experience and educational background are valuable assets and will be well-suited for the board.
